Summer Season
Several ski lifts are kept open during the summer to allow walkers and cyclists an effortless ride to the summit.
Walking

The original alpine pastime which predates skiing in this area! Innumerable walks in the summer, encompassing 250km of hiking routes and 98km of walks along the alpine "bisses". Important historically, the "bisses" are ancient manmade water channels which were carved out of the rock by farmers to protect their crops and cattle from the effects of drought. Water from the glacier of Rosablanche and Tortin, after flowing into the Printze river, is then diverted through the "bisses" for agricultural use. The bisses flow all the way to Aproz where they spill out into the Rhone. The clearly marked walks along the bisses are easy, vary little in altitude (because they follow the contour lines) and will take you past strawberry fields, through apricots orchards and into spruce forests, home to the local deer. "Bisse shuttle buses" run from July to October to take you to the beginning of the first "bisse" trail.
A few suggested highlights to include on your hiking itinerary are the Cleuson Dam (above Siviez), Mont-Fort glacier, the lake of Grand-Désert.
Mountain Biking
Stretching over 100km, the designated "mountain pastures pathway" is a network of 11 bike trails to suit all abilities.
Worldclass mountain biking competitions are held here, such as:
- "Tour du Mont-Fort" – One of the most popular mountain bike routes which encompasses Nendaz, Verbier and La Tzoumaz.
- "Solid'Air" (May): Lasting 10 hours, this is the longest mountain bike race in the world.
- Grand Raid Cristalp (August): Switzerland's most important mountain bike race with over 4000 participants racing across the Alps from Verbier to Grimentz.
